IMG customers have noted that the customer service is attentive both before and during their trips, especially when they need to modify their policies. However, IMG has recently improved its claims process to make it more efficient and transparent for customers.
Filed a claim on 3/26, got a confirmation email that the claim has been received. And after that No other communication to follow! No claim number (even though the email said I will receive it within 10 business days), no follow up. Nothing at all.
I had to cancel my trip due to a medical issue. I submitted the requested documents and I was reimbursed. I would definitely recommend IMG especially their policy that covers pre-existing conditions and will use them in the future.
I shopped around for travel insurance and selected this policy mainly for the emergency medical coverage as that was what I was most concerned about. We ended up having to cancel due to a family medical emergency. The claim process was very easy and we had our money back in our account in just a few weeks.
Fortunately I did not need to make a claim, but I felt confident about doing so after a long discussion with the helpful assistant at Squaremouth.
Tried to contact IMG numerous times on an island with little to no service. Sent emails which were not answered. Came home and tried to file a claim which have to be completed online. Spent almost three hours trying to upload pictures of receipts. Kept getting message that picture was already uploaded even though it was a new picture. So created an abode scan to upload. Message said could not upload at this time sorry for inconvenience then bumped me out. Upon entering back in I found nothing had been saved. Three hours of wasted time. I would never use this company again and would not recommend to anyone. I will try again to enter a claim but do not feel hopeful.
Horrible experience. I will never do business with IMG again, and will make sure I tell all of my friends, family, and acquaintances to stay away from IMG.
Paid but didn’t use fortunately. Like going to the casino.
I wanted to extend my policy for a few days as my flight home had changed, and the customer service email took days to respond and when they did, they told me it wasn't possible so I had to buy another policy for a few days extension to cover my flight. I was not happy.
As of today, the process is complete and I have received my claim amount in full. However, the process getting here was quite difficult and burdensome. More complete communication with my questions would have made it much better. Some questions were answered, but usually ignored and I was often frustrated with what I was being asked to provide, and why. I explained my thinking about some requests, but never received a reply. My phone calls to the 24-hour emergency service WERE handled well; someone always answered and was understanding and helpful (except in one instance).
Easy to choose the policy I wanted. If I was a first timer, it would have been easy calling and getting some recommdations from their personnel.
